Since the OP says "lightweight & compact" I assume he means "not terribly warm" & "small".
The Snugpak Jungle bag is rated to soething like 40* and compresses to about the size of a half a loaf of bread. With a fleece liner and a wool hat you could probably survive to freezing temps.
There are endless mess kits of all sizes and quality to be had. The cheapo Coleman brands are small but almost disposable cookware. I have a Brittish 2 piece mess kit I really like- the 2 halves fit over each other and hold over a quart each. About 7 x 5 x 2 inches, made of aluminium with wire handles. A canteen cup or stainless Nalgene bottle cup will take up almost zero room as they slip right over whatever water carrier you are using. Don't get much more compact than that.
