I use both. They each have their uses. I have been an outdoor educator for years using Nalgene bottles. Never had any problems with cracks or breakage. I heard you can boil water in them if the bottle is not directally in the flames.
The Camelback is new to me. I too, have the military one and it works well either in my tactical vest ( which I use for hunting or hiking as it holds my binocs, maps, plenty of gear not bought to be tacticool nor a mallninja ) or in my backpack.
So my answer is I use both. At the same time.
