Got it from a boss of mine that was a sniper in 'nam and he had a GREAT surplus of "supplies"...

Made by Springfield, I could not get him to part with the one from International Harvester...

Awesome gun.

This may sound arrogant but in my opinion, owning an M1 Garand is like a status symbol for firearm ownership. Expensive but a battle proven rifle.
