What is the difference between your "Rack bench press" and "Bench press"?

What does the Titan bar look like? Is this it?

Close, but I chose this one: https://www.titan.fitness/strength/barbells/specialty/multi-grip-barbell-v2/430122.html

A rack bench press is starting from your chest inside a rack and then pressing upward from a dead stop. The pins are set where the bar is touching your chest, so the stroke is up and then down, rather than down and then press up.

The Titan bar bench is getting a bit more familiar. At least I'm not doing battle with it each time I attempt a rep. Figuring out where to grip it best for balance. I accidently went up fifteen pounds instead of the planned five, darn it. Curls are nice and light. Wish I had fixed DBs heavier than the 65s.

I tried bent rows for one light set to see if it messes with my shoulder. I hope not!

..... Wish I had fixed DBs heavier than the 65s.

I am loving my adjustable dumbbells, but they max out at 55lbs. My fixed, dumbbells are in storage... and as I grow stronger will miss having the 65's.

I decided to search Craigslist for some 75's..... and ran across these Power Blocks. Anyone have an opinion on them?

The cheapest pair of used 75's were $240 for the pair. One guy was selling a set of 50's to 100's in 10lb increments and wanted $2,100 for the set. This is just rediculous.

Yeah, 'bells are a lotta money. It's why I've stayed with 65s as my top set and have adjustable ones after that.

Today was a bust.

Forgot my ab wheel work. Squats were horrendously bad form, so I stopped at 3. My right knee needing replaced worst was swollen, and I think my subconscious decided to shift the weight to my low back coming out of the hole. I'll regroup and get the same weight next week.

Maybe it's just me, but damn, they're pricey..
Yeah.... I bet in 5 years Bells have tripled in price. 6 years ago, I purchased a pair of 80's for $100. Granted they are new, but a price check on new 80's today is anywhere from $240-$275. Ten years ago, I could find Bell's on sale for 49 cents a pound.

I let my son steal my 80's and I know I will never get them back. 65 is my heaviest.

Lifted a day late. We were gone to the beach for most of a week having fun in the sun!

Titan bench press
140x10
190x7
235x3
270x5 singles
225x7
Hammer curls
35sx10
45sx10
55sx10
65sx10
55sx2 sets of 10

Added just a skosh of extra work to see if it irritates my shoulder. We'll see.

One thing I noticed today. I no longer wait for the pain I was once dealing with. Benching is now pain free after so long.

I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July!

No squats or deads last week. Just too busy getting ready for our big party on the 2nd.

Titan bar bench

Hammer curls

45sx10
55sx10
65sx10
60sx2 sets of 10

*Had to reposition the bar in my hand because it was slipping. Re-racked to adjust and decided to heck with it and stopped at 6. Pretty happy at how easy and light the weights felt today!

Back after another bout with Covid! This's the second time I've contracted it - and from the same guy while working shoulder to shoulder butchering chickens. He thought he had allergies until he tested positive the next day and is still very ill. I showed positive five days later and was sick with a chest cold and a little fatigue. I was surprised to find I could continue upward using my new parallel grip bench bar without backing off a significant poundage.

55sx10
65sx10
60sx2 sets of 10

*Grip problems again. Should have used chalk with the crappy knurling. Need something far more aggressive. I love this bar, however, because all my shoulder and elbow pain disappeared!

Can't complain after 3 weeks off and a bout of Covid. Squats felt strong and I thought about 405, but figured I'd better start easy. TBDL was okay, too. Hope to make good progress between now and hunting season!

Got a quick one today after too busy these past few days.

SSB squat
155x3
245x1

375x1
TBDL
285x1

Concentration curls

Everything felt easy and reasonably light today. I've been adding a few concentration curls to see if it bothers the bicipital attachment in my shoulder.

As badly as I felt lifting last week, today was the exact opposite!

Titan bar bench
140x10
190x10
245x5
250x5
225x8
Hammer curls
35sx10
45sx10
55sx10
65sx10
60sx10

Ran out of time, besides, it was 93 while I was in the weight room. Too hot for this ol' kid to be lifting.

245 and 250 for 5 is the heaviest I've been able to go with this new bar for high(er) reps. I felt strong and had more planned but needed to meet my wife on her way home from visiting family this past week.

Things went okay today, although I lifted at 104 degrees. I don't do well in these sorts of temps, so it was unpleasant.

I didn't get a chance to lift last week while I was installing a bank of solar panels. Unfortunately, we drilled a dozen holes 36" deep through round river rock and I constantly stumbled through them before falling in three times. The last time injured my right knee pretty badly. I'm finally able to walk on it today. Planned to lift yesterday but got busy canning peaches. Today was 10 degrees cooler but I still lifted at 85.

Not a lot of strength or energy in this heat, but got 'er done anyway!
