What would a British citizen have to do to move to America?

America is to me like paradise, you may not become rich, but you can do the best you can to work for what you want.

You can defend your home and family.

Recently a guy over here was jailed for 2 years for hitting a burgular wiuth a bat after the burgular tied his wife up and threatened to cut her throat.

America has opportunity, and this guy want a slice of the American pie.

Can anyone tell me how i could move to America?

Advice from a Canuck

From someone who has legally immigrated to the United States (note I said U.S., not AMERICA, this continent is North America and all people born in Canada and the U.S. are American, just try telling a U.S. customs officer that you are an American citizen, my daughter is, and see how quickly you are corrected), who is Caucsion, and has been living in the United States as a legally documented Registered Alien for 20+ years, let me refute the statements that your skin color is a determining factor in the ease of accomplishing immigration. It was not easy to go through this process, and I was married to a U.S. citizen and 8 months pregnant with his child when I did this, as a matter of fact I suspect it was more difficult because I was a Caucasion Canadian than it may have been otherwise.
My best advice to you is to contact the following; the U.S. consulate nearest your location in the U.K., the British consulate nearest the U.S. location you would like to immigrate to, an immigration lawyer specializing in British immigration nearest the U.S. location you would like to immigrate to (I used a British immigration lawyer as there were no Canadian ones) The above should be able to provide you with all the requirements for immigration, except a job - that you will need to pursue on your own. I believe it is helpful if you have a friend or relative already in the U.S. who is willing to act as your sponser. I'm no immigration specialist so this is merely my take on how I would approach the problem.

If you are serious, if you really want to come and be a true blue Conservative citizen of the United States of America ... you'll find a way. I've got friends from Italy, Australia (x2), England (x2) and Liberia. They all found a way and they all love it here and thank their lucky stars.

The United States of America is still the greatest place on earth and, as has been said many times before, it is what you make of it.

We'd love to have you. Good luck in your endeavor and keep asking questions if you have any along the way and oh ... keep us updated on your progress.

Oh, btw, move to the Southeast ... as a Conservative Brit you'll feel most comfortable here - or at least that is what my Brit friends tell me. Georgia or South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, parts of North Carolina, etc.

Howdy Mr. Machiavelli, be aware there are Cities and States in the Americas where the same thing could happen. There are districts where the District Attorney expects a citizen to flee or retreat from their own residence from an intruder. There are places like MA and NY where some prosecutors will attack a homeowner for defending themselves even though the concept of escalation is recognized.

As far as southeast location, I've lived/worked throughout the southeast & would lean toward SC, GA, Fl panhandle, NC away from Charlotte & triangle. Not a dis on others but those would be my preferances.

Yeah, good choices on regions ... we lost the queen city area and the RTP up in North Cackalacki a long ago. The entire state is slipping ... we're looking to dump our Tryon property and bail up there as well because of the liberals moving in right and left.

And oh yeah, I'll be there, at The Brice for our game - I'm not Gallo Pazzesco for nothing. I am always there, home or away for that game and the game against the Taterheads, if I am stateside - which I will be this year. Should be a good one. Sorry to say my friend,but good luck with that freedom thing.it is rapidly dissappearing.
