The goal of a lock (or any other security device) is either to slow down the intruder, or make your property harder to break into than your neighbor.Locks work because most criminals don't have the attention span to learn how to defeat them when a crowbar and boot work so effectively.
Locking bar, alarm and I power off my garage door opener (switch wired in). They could break a window, but that is about it.Anyway, the guy across the street told us to run a padlock hasp through the "hole" on the track, and the door WOULD NOT come up. We did and we offered a friend $20 if he could get the door open. God knows he tried! We gave him the money anyway.
A wide mouth carabiner works, as well, and is cheaper and easier.run a padlock hasp through the "hole" on the track, and the door WOULD NOT come up.
I love my dogs and I'm sure they would do their best to protect me, but they're very easy to defeat. Much easier than a high tech lock.Wake me when they develop one that will defeat my dog.
