Marpat Multicam Xcamo

19921 Views 22 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  SIXPACK
I was all geared up to get a Marpat shirt, but I ran across a new camo; X-Camo.
It is a cross between Marpat and Multicam. IN the Southeast US woodland Marpat is good and Multicam is good but not as good as Marpat. Anybody have any opinions of Xcamo compared to the other 2?

I'm taking some pics this afternoon and will post Multicam vs Marpat.

Here is a comparison. Click on the image to see it full size.

Obviously, I would recommend Cadpat with Marpat as close second, for anyone who can get their hands on it, for obvious reasons.

I kinda like the bunny camo, myself. Some people would have a hard time shooting a pink bunny, and the rest would be laughing too hard to be able to hit it! There would also be a few who would think that they're going insane for seeing a pink bunny to start with, and wouldn't shoot it because it couldn't be real. :D:

WHERE'S THE WOODLAND CAMO??????And why is this comparison in front of a bunch tall grass, I don't have any of that in the terrain scape around. In the terrain surrounding me the Woodland works better then any of the Digital print Camos. Yes in this Picture the Cadpat is working well but only because there are dark spots behind him put him in the lighter stuff and he'll stick out just like the Desert Marpat. I think the one that works the best in this picture is the Multicam, take away the shadows from his head and vest and he almost disappears, not counting his face of course.

I posted that because he wanted to see Marpat vs. Multicam.
I think that bunny camo is a close second to clown camo.

Being in NC I'll stick with MARPAT.
I'm wondering if I could scuff up, stain, fade or darken the Multicam boonie hat. It looks cool, but I don't want a "shoot me in the head" hat. :(

When picking a camo pattern, you have to go with whichever one best suits your area of operations. For some ares, MARPAT would be best, for other areas the Multicam or woodland camo works. There is no one size fits all for camo, it all depends on terrain where you are located. Just NEVER go with the Army ACU pattern, trust me !!!

Thats a great demo!!!

It proves as said above wear the right camo in the right terrain.

Now what exactly was the ACU all about?

I don't like ACU, but why don't you like it? I never saw the reason to do away with woodland anyway, like the army did. ACU is just a light gray after it fades a little.
Its all about your AO! I currently have Marpat(woodland digital), and regular Woodland. In most of my AO it works AWESOME! however, come fall, I will probably get some Multicam, or actually because it is VERY similar, but half the price, I will go with the x-camo which is the mulitcam knock-off...

I actually have a camo fetish I think... when I can afford it, I will be buying as much and as many different patterns as i can get.

Rover,
I don't like the Army ACU uniform, because it doesn't blend in with anything. When some General was sold on this thing, I can't help but think (KICKBACKS) or even see what he saw in the ACU. THERE IS NO SUCH Thing AS A UNIVERSAL CAMO PATTERN.

Please watch "The Devil's Rejects" and "House of a Thousand Corpses." Bunny suits don't look too good after seeing that movie.

I would wager they were the low bidder.

Actually, ACU can have it's place too, in some limited circumstances. It's ideal for urban operations in my city. Every house here has rock walls around their back yards, and some of them have them around the front too. While the houses are all different colors, the rock walls are all the same, and ACU blends into them better than anything else I've found. It also does better in our grey/white desert than the brownish desert camo does. Though it blends better after it fades a bit.

I don't watch any movies. I broke myself away from the canned entertainment industry and it's manipulation of society years ago.
The Marines kept a different version of digitals than the army, right? For some reason, they don't want to share the same pattern. But, I have to ask why.

I believe they share the same pattern for the desert but, not sure about that. For woodland, they definitely have different colors. One is grass, the other is traditional woodland turned into pixels.
