I remember when I'd post something, and it would be off the first page in 20 minutes...either that or it would be stuck on the first page near the top because someone commented every 3 minutes.

What happened? Did everyone get bored?

I dont even see an active "To Baton or not to Baton" thread going on page one.

Merry Christmas!

Probably slowed down for the Holidays. Although seems to have slowed down a great deal over the past couple years for whatever no good reasons.
Maybe many think since Trump is elected they don't have to prepare as much anymore? Although some might prepare more although they might not post or join a scary "Survivalist"forum?

I post still quite a bit here> https://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=84562

Many miss what I post there such as just a day or two ago I posted this in response to some wishing a Merry Christmas >

I don't need cards, never have. Never have gotten many which is ok. These electronic cards are plenty for many reasons. And these pics / cards are to any who might happen to see them in this remote pic thread >

Ok this is the best Christmas card I could find without spending too much more of my life searching. It looks best in full screen >

When I first joined, a year ago, it was so busy I couldn't keep up.

Now it seems that a day or two can go buy with only a post or two in the threads I'm following.

Its kind of sad. I used to lurk because it felt too busy for me to keep up with, and now that I joined, it seems to be dying.

Hmmm probably your fault then. :thumb: Actually I don't think it is simply one person who could have that much power or influence to slow down or kill a forum even though seems like a moderator or two has tried by being over controlling etc. the Thinking it over person who was out of control and drove off many from bans to harassment. Even I was harassed by mods which I Never was the first five or so years I was on this forum.

Since Kev sold the website and several older members jumped ship to other forums it tends to do that a lot now and with it being Christmas it all has slown down to a crawl.
Guess we will see how it goes next year. Kev still posts sometimes and he is one of the best although no one is perfect.

Too extremely bad if so awful many have disappeared or simply stopped posting, even thanking posts. I see some who might be around if they look at my profile, probably to see if I am still around.

I say it is Extremely not good if many abandon this formerly great survival forum for whatever no good reasons. Bad because the huge amount of survival knowledge will be needed. Maybe many are discouraged with the news etc.? I know it can get depressing but much is manipulated and too many will just want the govt to take care of them, which is probably the global plan!

Much more I could write but as some I have seen will not or feel like they cannot write much. Slowly but surely we all are losing our former freedoms as found in the Bill of Rights. And that is also part of the global world-wide plan...

Aha! So you are the reason this site is dying!! ;) (j/k; I like your thread about your place).

I joined the SB soon after Sandy Hook in 2013, and it seemed like the sky was falling and Obama was destroying America (well, it was because the sky was falling and Obama was destroying America).

i have no doubts that had HRC won, the world would've caved in, too, and the traffic on these boards mightve doubled and redoubled. As is, we all got a reprieve. A collective sigh of relief. But with the Leftist/Dems owning the House, they are going make trouble. You ain't seen nothing yet... Traffic here will be like the first hundred days of the Trump administration -- nonstop political talk, with one outrage after another. Guaranteed. Watch for it.

There might be another thread but this seems to be the main one, that I could find anyway about who owns this forum. One quote from this link: "SURVIVALISTBOARDS.COM is owned and operated by VerticalScope Inc. of Toronto, Ontario." https://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=705082

Tells some about trolls etc. also in this thread. Too bad many here from what I have seen over the years, act like some of us are the enemy when as survivalist / preppers we should be all on the same side working together instead of arguing, ridiculing etc.
Anyway this thread is interesting also >

The new owners own everything published here. Many published, and hope to publish, writers have stopped posting here, some in mid story. The fiction section brought in a lot of viewer that went to other sections and threads. I don't come here every day, much less than the several times a day I use to. I will still post to threads that I can contribute to, if I notice them, but I don't look as hard as I use to.

I am not sure what "clean boots" means...like armchair survivalist? Or one of my bil's going camping with his hand sanitizer, wipes, spf 40 and prepackaged food....
Clean boots market is not something people hear or read about everyday unless I suppose in business. Boring to me but I had to look it up and all I found was this >

"Money or an asset added to a trade in order to make it reflect the fair market value of the assets being traded. A common example of a boot is a trade between a new car and an old car. The person trading the old car will usually add money or another asset to the deal in order to make it "even."
