I was entertaining the idea of a silencer for an M1A, but since the barrel threads are so short, I wouldn't really trust their strength. The question is that if I were to install a Delta P 5/8 X 24 adapter, would that make it a more stable platform? Thanks in advance guys.

are you talking about taking off the flash suppressor and using the threads that the castle nut would go on?

I would think that if they could hold the flash suppressor on that well they would be able to hold on a suppressor but idk.

Barrel length isn't an issue for strength, shorter barrels are more rigid.
