Title says it all. If anyone is looking for more people for their survival/shtf group near St. Paul Minneapolis MN, I'm looking to either start a group or join an already existing one. PM me or post in thread if interested!

Any advice? If we can get a good group of people we can get things in bulk and help each other in the process. I think things are continuing to get worse in our country. No one wants to compromise or listen in DC. I want my family to be ready if things fall apart. I saw some great prep information on YouTube, I think we are part of a growing movement.

I'm south of the river...and interested in a group. I would like to meet a group in person and have discussion about the possibility if SHTF. Even a small group is better than no group. I currently don't have a good BOL and would enjoy listening to others ideas. Jim

CB Radio Group in Bloomington, MN?

Seems like it would be nice to practice some CB neighborhood contacts.

As you know, CB range is very limited -- perhaps 1 or 2 miles with AM. Significantly better range with SSB.

I'm really new to CB. Just installed my homebrew antenna and haven't even made my 1st contact yet.

But, for any neighborhood, just consider the emergency communication implications of CB:

(1) First, we must establish communication range with nearby neighbor(s) -- namely, who can we contact?,
(2) Then, agree on channels and AM or SSB,
(3) Perform practice sessions whenever agreeable,
(4) In case of widespread power failure, figure out in advance some kind of time schedule for making contacts -- on specified frequencies, etc.
(5) Here are couple of wild ideas... 26 letters in alphabet, 24 hours in a day -- maybe during power failure we agree on active slice of day, say, 9am to 10pm (13 hours can accommodate 13 pairs of letters -- say, AB, CD, EF, GH, etc.

Any ideas?

Sure would like to get group of interested people in the 55425 or 55420 zip code area (for me, these zip codes imply range limitation of CB radio).

Best,

Jim

I live in Forest Lake currently. Haven't started prepping until the day of this post. No physical stockpiles yet, but I'm starting to build my knowledge stockpile. I would be interested in speaking to and meeting others. I am also not former military. Heck, I won't profess to really have any of the skills I should need - the closest I can claim is a father who was a down-home Aitkin farm boy-turned-teacher whose brain I can pick - but I'm willing to learn and am a fast learner.

Hi Snimm

Sounds like we're pretty much in the same phase of prepping, I really just got going myself as well. Have some food stored, water filters, meds, etc. I do, however, have a 12 month detailed plan that I put together - willing to sharing if you're interested. I'm a list guy - lists for just about everything, lol! You can either call me at 651-724-1325, or email; [email protected] .

Sig. Other and I are new to prepping and live in the MN (central to bloomington, 55425 area, housing options north (maple grove 55369) and south (Apple Valley 55124) of the cities). Looking for like minded individuals as well - will start up a thread in the MN section. We plan on checking out the Wisconsin Expo in October.
