I have a bug out bag/ camping bag, but I was told you need to start by prepping to your means... and then buy a bag.

If you ask me, do it the way you feel like doin'.

I bought a used large Jansport backpacking bag. Lots of room... found it on Craigslist where I only searched for maybe 2 days!

Good luck finding something.

Alot of folks here use a ALICE or MOLLE pack I believe.

The B.O.B.s at home & in the care were my starting point. I am having trouble putting together one in my cubicle, because the space is shared. Your B.O.B. may well wind up being a personal affair - meds, religous needs; etc. Regardless, you're in a great place to gather information. Welcome to these forums!

The things you store in your house in your pantry etc are going to be different from what you want in your bugout bag.

From what Ive seen, many people are packing for 3-5 days.. some more I suppose. They are packing lots of Sportsbars, MRE's, dehydrated foods/ meals, candybars, some canned foods If you dont mind the extra weight..

Check out the bugout bag threads, and pictures.

Welcome, Much to learn here. Things to ponder follow:

Have a BOL (bug out location), if needed?

Self-sufficient? Garden? Stored food?

Reload? Cast bullets? Practice with your firearms?

Practice permaculture? Gather wild foods?
