I currently reside in Oregon, however the overbearing liberalism being pushed down from Portland is causing us to move. I am looking for somewhere west of the Midwest that is fairly libertarian or libertarian/conservative. I was chatting with people from Idaho (as this was our first choice) and was told by multiple people that if we were not extreme far-right, they would run us out of North Idaho.

With that being said, any suggestions? Thank you.

Oregon has been a liberal pile of poo for years. What suddenly made it untenable?
Southern and Eastern Oregon haven't been liberal. Southern was almost 50/50 but more conservative leaning and Eastern was very conservative. Check out the State of Jefferson. Yet as of late, we've had a huge influx of liberals from both out of state and from Portlandia.

If you find such a place, please let me know. Actual and not pretend Libertarianism is rare.

Not totally sure what kind of society you are looking for. Most folks want a agreeable combination of politics and climate.

My definition of a libertarian society, is the government leaves you alone. Low taxes, minimal services. No zoning, and few building regs, or license fees.
If thats what you are looking for, most south central states are becoming more libertarian, while western states are hiking taxes, and passing new regulations.
An equally important consideration IMO is climate. Rainfall, growing season, how cold is the winter, and how bad are the insects.

Some people say libertarian, but they really mean socialist. They are just fine with government regulations, as long as their people are in charge.

I spent a lot of time figguring out where I wanted to live after I retired. The most important part was the time I spent asking myself what I really wanted.
I did not want to live in an authoritarian society, even if it was rignt wing power freaks in charge, and I did not want to live in a socialist hell hole any more.

I moved to the Ozarks.

Dogmatic libertarianism maybe rare , but most people hold some libertarian beliefs.

Dogmatic authoritarianism is rare too. But sadly most people hold some authoritarian beliefs also. .
