Liberals seem to care about animals more than other human beings.

Liberals think rights for animals are more important than rights of humans. I won't say what else I feel, because it isn't allowed here. But, I think you get the idea.

Bull....all you're doing is taking a cheap shot, smearing with the broad brush and trolling for attention. As a liberal, I hunt, own guns, own two homes paid in full, have little debt, and no doubt more self sufficient than you are as I prefer to live below my means.
As retired military, unlike vets who served only a few years, I'm still bound by an oath to support and defend the Constitution.
However, I will speak out against cock fighting, bull baiting, fox penning, dog fighting, running deer to ground with dogs, gunning wolves from aircrafts, and sloppy hunters regardless of political leanings who can't make one shot kills, leaving wounded animals in the field being too lazy to track to finish the job....

I think some people are confusing liberals with animal rights activists or extremists. The two are not one in the same. I know of alot of liberal minded people who eat meat as well and hunt and fish.

Just because someone is liberal does not automatically mean they are an animal rights proponent.
Most animal rights people though, are in fact liberal in their political views.

Not trying to stir anything up. Just trying to clarify.

I'm no liberal, but I'll tell you this. I'd save my dog from harm before I'd save some random person. She's family and family comes first.

Besides that, I do tend to feel more sorry for animals that are abused than people. I guess to me it's a matter of innocence. Animals are innocent and don't understand. People are just different in my eyes.

Well, I care more about animals than I do MOST humans. Does that count?

Just for the record, caring about and respecting animals does not necessarily mean that you don't eat them. I have a great deal of respect for the animals we raise for food.

Oh, and do we need to drop the "nazi" reference for everything we don't agree with? Unless someone is actually bent on genocide and conquering the world, then calling someone a nazi is just silly. The label has been a bit overused don't you think?

If my dog and a liberal were both facing a life-threatening situation and I had the ability to save only one, I am going to save the one who ****es me of the least. Sorry, liberals.

As was stated earlier, my dog is part of the family. Also, being working and hunting dogs, they help put food on the table and help us get our work done. Taking this into consideration, they contribute more to our family than a random stranger.

Meh. We all came far away from the idea once live animals are now meat. If you take away hunters and farmers and similar, I doubt it matters what political leaning and most people don't want to know their meat comes from animals. They don't want to know how bad those animals were treated in production. They could never kill an animal and butcher it because it is scary and icky.

That is what modern life does to people, not anything on the left to right spectrum.

I'm very left leaning and I think cats are superior to us. ;) Eating meat is an option, and if you opt out I have no issue with that. If you opt in however, I do ask you to be able to kill for meat, or you should stay away. I'm not saying you have to kill all your meat yourself, but I want you to have proven killing is not a problem. Because if it is, you're a hypocrite.

Then there is another problem with mass production of meat and eggs. I think animals actually have the right to be treated quite well if they are supposed to be eaten. If that is bleeding heart liberal, so be it.

To put animals before human lives? That is quite a tricky one. I would be weird if I cared more about a stranger than my feline masters because they are my family and a stranger... well.. like it or not but humans usually care very little about people they don't come in contact with. If that makes me a bad person, fine.
