I built some raised beds this summer as the last three years I've not been able to plant until June because of the wet weather. So a planted a small fall crop just to see how well lasagna gardening would work. I didn't have but 3 materials to work with so I layered grass, dirt and newspaper to fill my beds with and I must say I was impressed with the outcome.

How about softball size radishes. :D: That's a SAK next to it.

Nice. I have been thinking about doing a fall garden but I notice that the sun has shifted and I only get sun in the back yard for about and hour so wondering if I should even bother.

Nice looking radish.

How long did you let the newspaper/dirt sit before you planted?
I didn't wait after I layered the top with about an inch of soil I planted. There was one drawback the bed wouldn't retain moisture so I watered regularly.

In the spring I'll incorporate some peat into it.
