Oh yeah, we have the whole 'rigid and overbearing' thing going. When we try to discipline our children we're 'overbearing'. God, can this get any worse?

My sister in law was talking to my wife and she brought this up. She said that the mother was reported to be rigid and said it in a tone as if that explains why this kid went crazy. My wife said to her, "what? she was doing her job? Being a parent?" I remember as a kid being yelled at and even hit once by other parents or complete strangers because I was screwing around. Can't do that these days.

It does amaze me how this story is changing. I wonder when we will get all the facts about who was involved. I also want to know why highly intelligent kids are committing these crimes. I always thought there was a thin line between genius and crazy.
