I have been doing searches online for information on land grants in the US, I know they exsist but I am not sure the type of grant I am looking for exsists.

I have found numerous grants to help add a pond to your property or to help restore some of your property to the natural habitat and so forth.:thumb:

However I am looking for help in buying land and establishing a homestead. I thought I had seen information on this here on the forum but a search failed to turn anything up.

Does anyone have any informtion on this type of grant or land grants in general?

Be careful. Don't pay for any information. You'll run into a lot of "send us 20 dollars to get your list of free properties or abandoned farms etc...."

Unless you're starting up a university or something, it's pretty much impossible. Land grants from the Federal Gov. Stopped over 20 years ago. You'll have more luck with the states, especially if you can improve unused, or dilapidated public lands.
