Accidently stabbed myself in the leg with scharade small folder, about an inch deep. Caught my leg with my 'hawk once, not too bad though ,didn't need stiches. Stabbed a scapel into my thumb, quite far in. Didn't bother with the one or two stiches that would have been.

oh, jeez my mind is too graphic, lol. I'm wincing just reading these. I'm young so I've only had 1 knife accident which was when I was 8 and I got a SAK in my stocking for Christmas and I decided to open all the 'tools' up and then I cut myself on the short blade. That ruined the christmas meal because when I ate a turkey leg with my hands the "juice" from the turkey would get in my cut and it would sting like crazy.

As a kid, I was stabbing a box with a small steak knife. No problem until I tried to stab the corner of the box where the cardboard overlapped. It was thicker so the knife stopped while my hand kept going. I cut my index finger to the bone. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to get in trouble so I bandaged it up myself. I needed stitches but I never got any. I still have the scar 40 years later.

Also as a kid but a bit older, I was whittling on a piece of wood when my pocket knife slipped and stabbed my inner thigh. It went pretty deep (1/4" I suspect). I still have a scar from that accident too.

When I was 20, I worked as a lineman. I climbed poles for a living. I had my hooks on (some people call them gaffs) and I was on the ground pulling a cable lasher with a rope. The rope broke and I fell backwards. My 2" pole climbing hook punctured my calf and went about 1-1/2" into the flesh and drew tons of blood. I got a few stitches that time.

Shoot where to begin? 1st time with a knife I was about 9 or 10 and I was out in the woods and was holding this big block of chocolate in my hand (from my survival kit) and I decided to use the point of my knife to pry a chunk off. BAD idea! Ended up jamming the point of the knife DEEP in my hand! Fortunately I had a couple homemade butterfly bandages in my kit so I was good to go. But boy did that mother hurt. And I sure wasn't going to ask my parents for help. Then there was the time a stick got jammed in my eye!
I cooked for decades so cuts are common place. My 1st cooks job, the very 1st night, I sliced one of finger tips open on the ribbon from a canned ham. I've cut them on a band saw cutting fish and steaks.
I still have 1 scar on the back of my hand from where a guy left part of his tooth when his face ran into my fist.:D:

First one was left thumb cut down to the bone with a razor blade, tried to hide it from my mom, but she seen the trail of blood so she fixed it up. Left knee sliced open to the bone on a pirece of steen roofing, middle, ring and little finget almost cut off from saw. One and a half inch scar on right thight from barb wire. Knife cuts galore over the years, but only got stiches in the fingers from the saw and in wrist whre a broken window fell and pinned my wrist, broke the rest of the window with the hammer, went ahead and fixed it, then went to the Dr and they yelled at me and told me I was lucky I didn't bleed to death. Had the lawn mower kick a stick into my shin and had the forked end burried, pulled it out and bandaged it myself as I have done with most of my mishaps. I could go on and on but can't remember what most of them came from anymore.

tried juggling knives as a kid, and severed tendon in left hand.

stabbed myself in chest with flat-head screwdriver while trying to fix BB gun, was pulling towards me on the cocking spring...

chopping wood, axe went through shoe and into toe. Was one of the scariest things in my life, taking that shoe off and making sure my toe was still attatched to my foot lol

a sword cut to the bone on my hand in Iraq. Ignored it for a couple days, finally went to BAS when it wouldn't quit bleeding. I told the coreman I cut it walking in a hagi house, outside of combat lol. didn't want to make the blotter, or get a purple heart, for playing grab-**** with friends.

Man...I thought I was prone to finding the point or edge of something sharp. LOL

I was carrying some steel studs, framing the interior of a warehouse. They have holes up and down them for running wiring and plumbing. My index finger slipped inside while I was carrying my end of the load, and it was sliced to the bone effortlessly. I wrapped it really tight in my tshirt and bandaged it up later, never went to a hospital(stupid, but I couldn't afford the bill). Awhile later, I was framing a house and shot a nail through my finger. I have had minor cuts over the years, you have to learn to respect a blade.

When I was 10 I severed my left middle finger through the last knuckle being stupid and cutting towards my fingers.
Needed that one reattached, still can't move it properly.
Also took off 1/4" of the tip and nail of that finger a year later, that nail now grows thicker and harder than any of my other nails.

Almost lost a fair bit of skin on my left thumb when a sheet of corrugated iron slipped and ran down the back of my thumb.
Docs reattached most of it again, leaving a scar about an inch long.

Not to leave my right hand out, my pinkie on that hand was sliced through the knuckle with my hunting knife while me and a mate were dressing out a deer by headlamp.
He slipped and sliced my finger, we had to bandage it with the sleeve off my t-shirt, the walk out was 4 hours of hell along slopes to steep to stand on and thick bush.
Had it stitched back on, it still moves but lacks circulation, was touch and go as to whether it would stay.

Those are just the majors, my little sis once counted 54 scars on my hands alone.

I use my a knife almost daily. Like everyone else I use them in the bush extensively. Every other day I practise knife CQC. I have as yet to cut myself. Haven't had a knife accident yet.

I was widdling a piece of wood and it had a hard knot in it. I pushed to hard tword my body and sliced my wrist. That bleed for a while but I must of been 10-11 maybe 12 and knew nothing about knives and was not supposed to even be touching them. I was scared I would get in trouble so I washed it out with hydrogen peroxide, bandaged it up, applied a anti-scaring cream and wore long sleeved shirts for like a month.

I was never taught to not cut toward my body, I had to learn that myself.
