Good luck finding an H&R/NEF for that these days but the Turkish single shots can be had pretty cheaply. No idea why the guy went with 28ga and about those welds..... It looks like some of the homemade shotguns I've seen in Central America and Asia.

I'll stick with my old H&R 20ga, it's both one of my least expensive guns and one of my very favorites. I'd be nice if PSA reintroduced them, and especially the barrels for them, now that they own the brand name (not sure if they got the rights to the product line or not). I still kick myself for not having bought a .357 barrel when they were like $60- now the barrel alone sells for hundreds, on the rare occasion you find one.

One time I saw shotgun barrels for sale so cheap in Shotgun News that they were suggesting using them for tomato stakes. At the time I considered making a shotgun but not so much. Now making a suppressed pistol from a replacement barrel or a barrel liner is an interesting thought. I might keep my eye out for a good trigger/hammer release kit.

Cool home builds! I'll definitely take a closer look.
The $100 Turkish Hatfield at Wal-Mart has crept up to $127 now. I have one. I modified it to be a brush gun like my home builds are. It's just as light or lighter than my own home builds and more accurate. I like it better than my home builds for hunting but the home builds would get the job done for hunting or home defense.

ATI NOMAD SGS 12GA 18.5 SINGLE SHOT BBL
$84

Or go to the following for entire listings of shotguns:
Laying that ATI next to an H&R Topper would be like parking a Honda Civic next to a Corvette.
Man, that is ugly!!
For the record, I really like single shot shotguns. I have "a few" that I bought 20 or so years ago when you could pick them up for $75 at pawn shops.
I've even got a Springfield 94 as a barn gun. I got that one free since the firing pin was broken. Less than $10 plus shipping and I was in business.

If you watch and are nor real picky, you can still get deals. I have an ugly Mossy 500 that I got cheap without a barrel within the last year. Traded a buddy for an old barrel he had lying around. If I have $150 in it, I would be shocked. I bought a muzzleloader barrel for it for $30 and the guy tossed in a Sears Model 100 barrel that is pitted on the outside.

At one point about 6 to 8 months ago Academy put their Savage 320 pump combo on sale for $140 something. It came with 2 barrels. I bought 2 of them and one of the pistol grip ones that only had one barrel. I think it was $130 something.

Sadly I get to shoot very little and even less shotgun as my range only has a skeet course with one patterning lane. The rifle range will not let you shoot shotguns unless it is just to function test one shot or something.

I like the idea of homebuilt guns, but it is just safer to pick up a cheap one when you see it. Locally P2P sales are still without an FFL, so nobody needs to know what all I buy.
