I was away fishing last week and ran into a fellow selling an old Savage 720 Auto. Talked him down to $125.00. It's a little rough looking but appears to be a nicely built, solid shotty. Based on the serial numbers it's a later model 113XXX (1945-9?) and not a USGI used or de-milled. The barrel looks like he added an after market sights set and the stock could use a good stripping and/or linseed oil application. Barrel bluing is pretty much gone. Maybe another camo project in the process.....

Any insights on this weapon?

Anchorbanger, someone beat me to it. I swear by e-gunparts.com. Very good site and tons of parts/schematics.
