In 1975 the people of the UK were given a vote, asking if we wanted to join the COMMON MARKET.
This was sold to the people of the UK as a trade alliance, a way to facilitate easier trade with europe.
We voted to join this Common (Trade) Market, NOT a political union.
We have never been given a vote on joining a german led european state, that in effect is the 4th Reich.

You may have spent several years as a gun dealer and during that time owned thousands of guns.
The questions are: is that normal in your area? Does the average citizen(serf ) have loads of guns? Does the average citizen(serf) have access to train with those guns?
On my block alone I know of 8 people who have guns. I'm not very social so I'm sure there are many more.
Guns, or specifically their availability and the threat of their possible employment against the government is probably not even on the radar of your politicians, leaving them free to trample your rights unfettered.
Oh, and at least we have guns to protect ourselves from those illegals.
Even though guns are not always the answer, at least here they can be part of the question and an available option.
And why are you even surprised politicians would lie to you?

Yes, we have access, we keep them at home & yes we use and train with them, at a multitude of gun ranges and clubs.

Yes you're correct.
No one trampled on anyone's rights at Waco and when New Orleans flooded no one had their right trampled on (or legally held guns confiscated) and no one was trampled at Ruby Ridge.

The rate of gun ownership in the UK is close to 6-10% of that of the US. Surely no large concentration that would be enough to pose a threat to any governmental entity.
I'm not doubting your proficiency with what you have. My point was there are not enough to make a difference.
And with those examples you gave, you miss the point again.
Sure, in some of those instances you noted, rights were trampled, how ever it was not, and could not be done so on a grand or national scale. Or, at least I hope that, we the people, would not let it happen.
I'm just saying that if the government takes that step across the line, I'd rather have thousands 9f people loading magazines than thousands swinging baseball bats.
That image alone could deter a few overzealous politics from taking that step.

Rape is committed by citizens and non citizens. The difference is the average Joe and Jane can carry most places in the US. I doubt that's an option anywhere in Europe. That is the big difference. Your government has taken away your right to defend yourselves from the rapist and the politician.
Actually, to me, there is not much difference between the rapist and politician.

Count me as an American who is pulling for the UK to pull out of the EU. There are lots of reasons why I think this is good for the UK and the US. The UK is a better friend than the toothless EU, it reduces the influence the socialist EU has on the US, etc.
