I am currently living in a small town of about 3,200 about 50 km from a smaller-sized city. My town is on the inland near a lake and there are a lot of farms in my area. I live on the edge of the town with great access to the wilderness.

I think living here is one of the safest spots I could be after TSHTF.

How about you guys?

Is Your Town Safe After TSHTF?
Yes.

As long as the last guy out of Eastman Chemical and Nuclear Fuels remembers to turn the plant off then I think so. We are overloaded with ********, our EMA director is a great guy with strong Christian values and overall the entire county takes care of its own. The 2nd is practically the 11th commandment here too.

I can't be as fortunate. Live around 60,000 other people... there are already plenty of violent crimes and theft, etc to live with. I don't regularly see it, but I know the local police have to deal with a lot more than we hear about on the day to day. The gang/drug culture is thriving in certain parts around here... it wouldn't take much for people to become dangerous for everyone else, even outside of town. The "Inner-city" is very, very close to the "outskirts" around here...

I live outside of a town that has less than 3000 people. The huge problem that would happen here is the MASSIVE amounts of people that live in the government projects who depend on welfare and food stamps to support other habits. The law enforcement community here doesnt even believe in carrying shotguns. How long do you think it will take before the hungry meth and crackheads seize control? I for one will not be going into town.

Downtown Reno. Third floor apartment. For most things I'm good. There will be plenty of people defending the casino's just down the street. If need be, due to the actual circumstances, I'll be in Winnemucca. Shouldn't be any major problems there.

Is Your Town Safe After TSHTF? No there is no safe after tshtf. will my town be better off than most? yes very much so. my towns pop and stat.s as of 2000. there were 564 people. the population was spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 95.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males. This town is a set in a rural farming area and every one knows everyone. other than one gravel road there are only 3 roads into town. theres fishing, hunting and gathering that can be done nearby "less than 2 miles away". the closest towns pop is 845 people and it is 15 miles away .we any one who lives here can ask for help from most anyone else in town. how ever there would be a quick house cleanning of say 25 or so people from town "tweekers". this is where my bug-in local is and my Neighbor is a convert to survivalism "didn't take much talkin to join the team" and he is planning on bugn-in as well so all in all we should be fine

I would doubt it.
I live only 20km from the nearest city, and they all gonna be wanting food.
The area here is mainly full of retirees and I think people will see them as soft targets.
I'm not gonna be a soft target though.

Not me, if the SHTF when I'm at work in SAN FRAN-SICKO I'm F'ed. Hell, if it happens when I'm at home in Sacramento I'll have one hell of a time gettin' to the hills. I remember 10 years ago we were a small town with moderate crime problems, but all these dousch-bags move here with their rotten gang bangin kids bringin their problems right along with them polluting our quiet peaceful area. My town is definitely not safe.

Better than most cities. Although Des Moines in large there significantly few crimes for the population 250k+. I'll be bugging in for a short time them bugging out to another location. So my plans are good and should work fine.

no, the isu police combined with ames pd would probably take control of the town pretty quickly. probably turn it into a small police state.

I am about a half hour outside of Denver. So I would say that my town isn't safe after tshtf.

I'll be moving in about a year and the new location should be farther away from large cities. I'll feel better at that point.

I live right outside of NYC and work in Manhattan. I make no illusions as to how safe the metro tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) area will be after TSHTF. I'll try and bug out ASAP, but trying to get out of the NY metro area is no picnic, even on an average day with nothing happening. But my family is here, and like everyone else, I'll be doing the best I can.

Oh, I am pretty much Dead..... I live 45 minutes out of Raleigh, NC 2 hours from Fort Bragg, and 1/2 hours from Seymour Johnson air force base. Either could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your thought process
