A Canadian firm patented an inflatable building construction method that will(hopefully) allow them to build the World's Largest Building 12.4 miles tall with a runway at the top that will allow space planes to launch into space with a single stage engine. It'll be a remarkable triumph if successful.
If I have one complaint, it's calling it a 'space elevator'. It really isn't. Not in the classical sense. But still, truly amazing feat of engineering if successful.
