I stumbled on the site a while back while Googling something but only recently signed up. I have interests in how to sustain when (not if, but when) the SHTF day comes to my town.

Why am I here? My vivid recollection from Hurricane Katrina is that civilization can collapse in a matter of hours. All other things being equal, survival will happen for those who are prepared.

The thumbnail intro: ordinary guy doing life in America - military service (USMC, 4 years) just out of high school. Got out and married my high school sweetheart, blessed now with two grown daughters, two God-sent sons in law, and three outstanding grands. One dog (English Springer Spaniel), 57 previous cats (lifetime total, never more than 2 keepers at one time). Getting close to retirement and looking forward to it. Journalist, theologian & psychologist by training. My work is best described as that of an educator.

The username is chosen because as a kid I was always dozing off to sleep in church... Don't misconstrue that as a negative statement about life in church. Rather, take it as a tongue in cheek spin on a guy who still loves his daily nap.

Here’s how to work the Ignore feature: Near the top of the page you will see “User CP.” That is your control panel. Click on it to bring a drop-down menu. Look for “Settings and Options.” Then, click on “Edit Ignore List” which will bring up the panel where you can copy and paste or type the exact name of the obnoxious knucklehead into the blank box under the words “Ignore List ... Add a Member to Your List” Then click, “Okay.”

To remove a user from your ignore list, un-check the box associated with their name and click the 'Save Changes' button.
