it's ok, a little labor intensive....I'd try a 3-1 ratio of lint to wax. Just seems to be a little too dense of wax. My cotton balls in Vaseline takes spark REAL easy, less labor, are waterproof and ALOT lighter.

Also, down here, the heat would melt the wax and get wax all over everything.

cotton /lint with vasoline

I concur with the cotton balls and vasoline, i also made some with jute twine and wax, you pull one thread of the twine out then tease it into a "rats nest", not enough Wax to make a mess, takes a spark just as quick as cot/vas, but the cotton / vasoline has a 5/1 burn time over both the twine and the lint, however the lint soaked in vasoline is about equal and it only takes a tiny piece to start a fire.
