So, most of us pay taxes and vote, but in what other ways do you serve your community? I'm thinking this is important because, whether by choice or by circumstances, we all will wind up in some kind of a community post SHTF. Having provided some kind of selfless service may provide dividends if the SHTF, such as by have additional social contacts, having built up some good will, or just by having a better sense of who your neighbors are.
I'm on the boad of directors of a local non-profit, but am not particularly active, at the local level, in any other way. What are other people doing?
