Horseweed!

I've heard this plant is great for making spindles for the hand drill method of firestarting. I'd be interested to know what other potential uses it has as well.

goats absolutely love the leaves. i go to the river and cut a few down and throw them in the field. next day there is nothing but stalks laying there.

I have been using them as arrow shafts, Since they are fairly straight and every where. I checked them out, works good and the time effort to use is very low. shoot them and don't worry about finding them again.
I did notice, while cleaning them up, very nice smell.

The stems also make pretty good hand drills to make fire. This stuff grows everywhere, and I like the idea of arrow shafts.
