That's a great website, lots of information. Found that about six months ago when I was looking for alternative tanning methods.

I've seen that suggested before,and it's a decent idea. But....I think it only saves you less than 1/2 the price of a stainless Big Berkey.For that little money, I prefered to have the stainless unit sitting on the kitchen counter rather than a plastic bucket. But I do have a couple extra black filters in reserve, and if the S really HTF, then I'd planned on assembling something exactly like this for my quasi-sheeple,extended family. Can't let 'em drink ditch-water, can I ?

That is a 0.5 micron filter.

I use two 0.5 micron filters in our household plumbing.

They cost $9 each at the plumbing store.

Seems to me that the more filter elements you go through the better the water is going to turn out ......

wrong thinking, more filters the faster the water comes out, but it gets filtered the same as only one filter.

I've been playing with a idea I want to test this summer, going to build a 3 tier plant holder like this

then going to basically make a slow sand filter out of each plant pot and have it drip into the one beneath, pour water in the top and clean water come out of the bottom, have a water filter in plain sight
