If you have large hands, Hogue grips are a god send on lots of auto-pistols. I hear lots of complaints about the stickiness of the rubber for everyday carry. That's not an issue with me. On 1911 style I like Pachmayr or checkered wood. Non-stainless frames tend to rust under the wraparound finger grips. I usually cut them off the 1911's. Another fix is to use Eezox or another good rust preventive. If the finger grips fit your fingers, I think they do stabilize the weapon better and/or more consistently, therefore may improve accuracy.
