I drank the cool aid a long time ago, but I was considering giving a Springfield a shot. Ive owned many Glocks but would like to see what my fellow forum members think about the XD? Or maybe I should just stick with what I know? Money is no concern between the two.

Oh and this thread is about the XD9 vs. G19. I know Sigs and Berettas are fine pistols, so please keep those comments to yourself.. Trolls can smoke a pole :thumb:

Haha you sound like me man, the SA feels awesome in the hand and I shoot it better than my Glocks. But the reliability of a Glock is like no other IMHO. Maybe I should just get both?!
Well, I bought the glocks because they were the "cool" thing to me :D: I really think the XD is every bit as reliable as the glocks.

I like both the XD and Glocks, but I own an XD9 now. I especially like the grip safety on the XD, but thats mostly mental for me. I would say for some folks it all comes down to which grip angle is liked, I like the grip angle of the XD over the Glock. I have never had any firing issues with any of the XD's in 9mm and .45 I've shot. Forgot to add, if money is no problem I'd check out the XDM 9mm.

I do not like either because of the cults surrounding them. These two are so similar that it's like comparing coke and pepsi. But between the two now, Glock. Only reason for it: reliable Glock magazines can be found for UNDER $10. Both cost about the same, both are reliable, but XD magazines are $25 and up. I can only find them at Cabelas and gun shows, and Cabelas sells them for $30.95.

Until that changes, Glock 19. Accuracy, trigger, reliability, and grip are about the same in both. But the costs of magazines in the Glock is a deal breaker.

Phew finaly the glock is pulling ahead in the polls. It was neck and neck there for a minute.
Oh i gotta say also that I think the XD is the ugliest pistol I think I have ever seen. (not that it doesnt work, its just fugly)

I own both but glock is by far my favorite and the most durable. My xdm is more accurate than my glock but the difference is marginal at best. Considering the overall price of both and the resell values and aftermarket parts availability..... I say go with glock

I own an XD .40 S&W and LOVE it! When I was looking it was between the G22 and XD40 and the XD just felt SO much better in my hand. It will be personal preference, but the Springfield lifetime warranty sealed the deal for me. Good Luck!

I was contemplating buying a Glock 19. I shot one, but was also encouraged to try the XDM that was at the place. I LOVE IT! Shot only a hair better with the XDM which is negligible in my eyes but wound up going yesterday to a shop near me to order the XDM. Well with a price tag of $570, I ended up buying the XD subcompact in 9 mm for $450. It's .8 inches shorter than the XDM compact and from what I've heard, shoots just like the XDM. I plan on trying it out either today or tomorrow. From what I can understand though, XD, XDM, Glock, they all basically shoot the same.

Ill speak for all XD and XDM gun owners, no we have not had any reliability issues. The xd went through a little bit tougher torture test. Not one jam. Over time it will prove itself just as much as glocks.
