One, Geography... mountain range borders where, you had to take using trains going through them to get there from there, two: a country where a true milita of its citizenry, three; the German Luftwaffe tried to take on the Swedish airforce at one piont, the Swedes throughly trunced the Germans flying the ME-109's they bought from them. Hitler left them alone after that.

It was mainly Geography and the swiss preparations for such an attack, it was war gamed a few times by the reichs military but it was unfeasible.

Also Switzerland was an enormous help to germany, IBM, Ford, GM, Standard oil and various banking groups from the US were able to keep lines of communication, finance, assistance and in some cases, required parts for the Nazi war machine were able to move through the all to eager to help Swiss.
Germany was able to take advantage of the Swiss banking system and used Switzerland like an enormous Pawn shop for stolen art, gold and other valuables.
Switzerlands help probably prolonged the war by months

I believe it was simply a matter of Switzerland didn't have anything Germany wanted. They were also useful as a financial player.

Switzerland was the middle man on a 3-man cornhole. Most of GB and Europe particularly the banksters were doing business as usual throughout the war. Switzerland held lots of Nazi loot then, and probably still do. It was also tough terrain and landlocked. The OSS ran operations out of there.

Don't know if it's real or not. Might have been war time propaganda or not. They also had bridges in mountain passed rigged to blow, hidden mortar and artillery positions.

A neutral third party nation with an ironclad banking system, banking anonymity, and a dug-in civilian defense force that would make the territory taken worth less than the price of taking it.

The financial reason is probably the most important one.
Another consideration would be the Swiss millitia. A couple hundred thousand trained rifleman with gear already at hand, stored at home would be a big deterrent. After fighting in mountainous terrain the Germans would have to fight house to house with armed citizens.

Most Germans in the leadership, considering that Switzerland was a predominantly Germanic country, believed that Switzerland would follow the path of Austria when the time came and organically fuse with the Third Reich without a shot fired.

Probably a similar reason why other countries are reluctant to want to take military action against the US on US soil. US citizens are armed to the teeth and they are proud of it, and that's apart from the military. There are guns everywhere and enough ammo to take out millions of soldiers many times over. About the only way there could be any success would be something that would actually kill people without bullets. (Virus anyone? Mandatory pokety pokes anyone?) That way, the infrastructure is left fully intact.
