I would like to buy a portable solar panel set.

Can I hook up appliances to it one at a time? For example can it run a tv with a vcr or dvd player together?
So the only thing using the power would be the tv and player.

Are the portable solar collectors and battery setup strong enough for this?

If you are savvy with solar what wattage would I need to generate please?

No, you should no connect devices directly to the solar cell.

Solar panel - voltage regulator - battery bank - inverter - device.

The question is varible because of so many factors that are involved. Size and Wattage of the TV and VCR. The electric requirement (AC/DC) If it is AC then it would depend also factor in the Inverter and its effeciency. Not to mention the time of sunlight and if you are also going to charge batteries while using the items. Connecting DC directly to a panel will give you fluctioning power and more ofter then not panels are rated 24v unregulated

Solar power calculators on the various web sites take these in to affect and will give you a good idea on what size Panel and battery set up you will need.
