Interested in surviving the uglyness that seems to be comming from everywhere. I don't expect the "buisness as usual" politics of both parties to make things get any better in any way. I expect things to get alot worse & have been trying to become as self sufficient as possable. I raise chickens & hope to get goats soon.

interested in picking the brains of other like minded folks & perhaps meeting people in my area looking to barter/network or just B.S. over a fermented beverage or two.

I love a good conspiracy theory but, try not to get too caught up in any of them. Clearly "we the people" are being lied to but, I don't claim to know the answers. feel free to tell me what you THINK is going on but, don't get upset if I don't jump on board. God bless America & DEATH to her enemies, foreign & domestic.

Welcome Much to learn here. Things to ponder follow:

Have a BOL?

Self-sufficient? Garden? Stored food?

Reload? Cast bullets? Practice with your firearms?

Practice permaculture? Gather wild foods?
My wife & I moved here 3 years ago from S Florida where I was born & raised. We both love it so far as Fla has become a land of crack houses & gated comunities with bossy H.O.A.s & I have no use for either.

Not sure what a BOL is.

Trying to be self sufficient. our 14.5 acres has a small spring fed stream that runs (so far) year round & tastes like drops of heaven. We raise chickens (as stated in my first post) & have attempted a garden twice with minor success. We raised a fabulous crop of cucumbers (too bad I don't like the things) some stunted corn & onions. also a small amount of tomatos that were good but, not enough of them to brag about.

We just got our first set of solar panels, a small/cheap ($260) system that charges a couple of deep cell batteries (not included) & you can run a couple of house hold appliances from the battery with a converter.

We've got about a months worth of stored food & I hope to save up about 6 months worth. The woods around here are crawling with forrest lobster & smaller game. If things get worse than I expect (anything is possable) I won't hesitate to toss a coyote, stray dog/cat or chicken theif in the freezer but, I doubt/hope things don't get that bad.

I used to reload & cast bullets years ago with my dad but, not reciently. I may get back into it but, I'm not currently hurting in the ammo dept. I practice a few times a year with the firearms but, not as much as I should. I did pop a skunk reciently that sprayed my chained dog, took a kitten & scratched up momma kitty.

Not sure what permaculture is. I have eaten some black berries & grapes that grow wild in the woods & they were good. wild onions & strawberries grow like weeds in the grass. I've treid those but, they suck.

Hello,

I just joined the board too. I envy your location in W. TN. I think you are going to have an easy time finding like-minded folks in your area. I don't think there are very many conspiracies either, but I am sure there are some. I don't blame the President or people currently in office for our predicament here in the U.S. The things that happened with the national debt sprung from many politicians starting in the cold war era and becoming consequential during the financial meltdown of 2008. It's taken on a life of its own now that it's so large. The only tools they have to deal with it are reactionary and ad hoc rather than proactive.
