I have been interested in survival for thirty years. I joined infantry after reading an article on the jungle school in panama. Got to train in panama but we ran the obstacle course and movement to contact course twice a day for three weeks. Really didn't learn anything. Avid hunt, fish, backpack, learn from others.not familiar with message boards, etc. This is a great site!

Hi BREWROBTORN,

Welcome to the boards. Sucks that you did not learn much in the jungle school in panama. Not sure if SERE was before your time or not, but if you got to do SERE you might have gotten some survival training. But on the oter end the officers and special forces get more SERE training then most though.

Kind of wish the military did more SERE then three weeks of SERE training.
