Hello there,

I'm new to this site and quite new to prepping in general, well I've read a lot about it but only just woken up and realised I need to be more prepared.

I have a BOB although it is woefully understocked, I'm working on this.

Living in London, UK so firearms beyond air rifles are not a possiblity, is this something others in the UK/Other places have trouble with?
By next year I will have moved out of the city to a more rural area near the coast.

So I'm not quite sure how these forums work yet so I'm sorry if I make any mistakes or faux pars but I just thought I'd introduce myself.

We are facing ever tighter restrictions on firearms here, while watching the home invasion crime rate rise, so we know a little about Big Government deciding our fates. There are articles on the web concerning improvised weapons that may or may not be legal in the UK. The SAP CAP is one such item, a variant would be the Bangdana. So named by some of my fellow Marines back in the 80's it is a bandana with a role of coins folded and pinned into the center. It makes an effective mace and is arguably the way you keep from spending your get home taxi money while out at the Pub with your mates. Cheers.

Hi Student, welcome to the forums. I'm American but have lived in England for over 22 years.

It's not impossible to get rifles or shotguns here, you just have to jump through all the hoops first. For rifles the police want to see that you have a place to shoot (either land or a club)beside having the proper storage, good character, etc. For shotguns, the process is supposed to be a bit easier but if you are living in London, that might change things. A guy named Watch Ryder on here is pretty knowledgeable about such things.

Self-sufficient? Garden? Have garden tools? Store food-wheat, beans, etc.?

Heat with renewable fuels? Have firewood cutting tools?

Own a rifle? Reload? Cast bullets? Hunt? Fish? Have the equipment and supplies?

Homebrewing? Can food? Have the equipment?

Practice permaculture? Gather wild foods?
