Worried.
I placed an order with these guys at the weekend,

http://www.seedfest.co.uk/

But I haven't heard anything back from them - I was wondering if anyone here has ordered from them as they claim to specialise in heirloom seeds packs for preparedness.

I should have read the website more thoroughly before I ordered. It can't seem to make up it's mind whether it's shipping from the UK or the USA (I assumed UK when I purchased), but the checkout was all in dollars.

The more closely I look at it, the more it appears to have the presense of one of those long-forgotten-about websites. Or am I fretting over nothing?

I've tried emailing them, but no response yet.

cheers

Yikes! Thanks for the link - glad you showed me that! - looks like it's a scam site - OH BUGGER!

I've put in a dispute with both Paypal and CC NowUS (who Paypal paid the cash to) - hope something becomes of it.

cheers again.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Welsh company, I'll be sure to check them out.

In the meanwhile, I have actually received a reply to my email query from the original company in question!

they said:
Many thanks for your query and for your order.

To answer your question, we left Aberdeen in 2004 and for the last few years, we've operated out of the Western U.S.

As a general rule of thumb, shipping to most areas of the UK runs about 14 days.

Based on our shipping schedule, your order should be shipping by the end of the week.

Regards,

Kelley @ Sales

I think it may have been prompted by the dispute I put in with Paypal and CC NowUS.

I'll give then the benefit of the doubt for now and give them the 2 weeks to deliver, but I have to admit, I'm not holding my breath.

I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Result! Woohoo!

RESULT! WOOHOO!

CCNowUS, just refunded the full amount back to my paypal account!

I've got to say a special thanks to Ice Axe:thumb: for giving me the heads-up on the reviews page! If you hadn't done that, this could have got a lot messier than it did!

Right then, I'm off to check out the Real Seed Co in Wales (Rosesandtea 's suggestion - thanks:thumb:)

My faith in Humanity is restored for now!

Have fun guys:D:

Ok, so now i've got my money back, I've just placed a big order with The Real Seed Co at: http://www.realseeds.co.uk/index.html

They have a fabulous website and ethos. They are totally opposed to hybrid seeds and GM crops etc, and there is lots of great information there about how to save your seeds for subsequent growing years.

Virtually all of the seeds they offer come from plants that they have grown and eaten themselves, so have lots of hands-on experience about what works and what doesn't, and they only offer for sale the seeds that they know will be good.

Definitely worth a look if you get a moment.

If you want "heirloom" seeds over here I recommend the Real Seed Co. out of Wales. I ordered from them last year and was pleased.
Keep looking at them when thinking about seeds, Thanks for the recommendation. It's nice to know who you can trust these days :D:
