I can't answer the question sorry
But if you don't have prostate cancer I don't think it will hurt
It's been 3 years since I had prostate surgery
Was told about all kinds of complications and whatnot
I haven't had any issues except I will never have morning wood or any again
Oh well at 64 I rather be cancer free that have morning wood:mad:

Hoo,

From M.D. guidance, for prostrate maintenance, I'm an avid consumer of tree nuts.

They are fattening.

I'm on the food portion aspects of KETO. My M.D. took me off the 6 hour block of pigging out only then.

Tree nuts cost ~ 4 X more than peanuts, a legume (Jimmy Carter can amplify on this), but the true comparision re costs is tree nuts versus RX pharma.

Time for some more hazelnuts ..............................

I’ve also recently went the Keto route. Only been a bit over 3 weeks for me, but down almost 14lbs. Haven’t been eating enough due to some stresses. I’m youngish so no prostate issues, but was consuming way to much sugar. Before I started was always hungry and craving sweets. Had gained back 30lbs in 5 months that I lost last year (165 -195 at 5’11).

Keto has been great so far, I have a lot more energy and feel like I have reset my gut some. Just need to find a way to work more fiber in.

I'm a woman but my Dad had prostate cancer. He was too old for surgery so they did radiation. He seems OK except for frequent trips to the bathroom.

Years ago I used to give my husband Saw Palmetto extract for his prostate issues and it worked very well, but back then it wasn't cheap so we stopped.

Has anyone done this with success? I saw a few videos on this and although I already am pretty fit, I figure it can't hurt to go even more protein and less carbs. I've slipped a bit lately and need to take it up a notch anyway.....

Carbs are always the devil......and not just with weight....
The first time I did Keto ... the fat fell off of me and I hardly moved a muscle. Never felt better in my life. I went from over 230lbs to 170lbs in less than a year. Then, after I got really sick with pneumonia during the Covid debacle, I lost more weight than I wanted to I started eating carbs to put some weight back on. Unfortunately, I got re-addicted to all that junk and got back up to 218lbs. So I'm back on Keto and back down to around 205lb. My target is 175lb. This diet improves my health is many ways. Prostate is still an issue, though (although not as bad as it was).

Can anyone tell me why "prostate issues" keeps coming up in this thread? Are prostate issues associated with a keto diet?
I think it's more about helping with those type issues

As I posted, I am trying a Caveman diet to see if it helps with the prostate. It is said to help.....Thread is titled:

Both are not ideal because they cut out important foods groups, including the carbs you hate but need.

I’d stick with the basics - 1/2 your plate fruit and vegetables of all colors, 1/4 protein and 1/4 grains unless you have calculated a specific protein and carbohydrate amount, which will still look roughly the same.

no such thing as an essential carbohydrate, grains are the worst. Might as well eat table sugar as it's likely less inflammitory.
I do eat sauerkraut, lacto-fermented pickles, and some veggies/berries.
I’m just basing this off of advice from dieticians and guidance from our OHWS team that looks after us and our AFSOC brothers. We’re all very healthy and in better shape than the average American.

Think we should switch to the keto diet?
