Im looking at getting this knife but I read on a website they are changing the sheath.

1 version GERBER LMF II ASEK 22-1400
1 New version GERBER LMF II ASEK 22-01627

does anybody know what has changed with the new sheath?

I don't know anything about the new sheath, I thought the old one was excellent though. The knife was very good too. I almost decided to sell my SOG seal pup to buy one.

I use this knife quite a bit. The sheath I have works very well. I am not sure what they are going to change on the new sheaths, but the old one is functional.

The blade is very durable and the handle feels comfortable and secure. I did add a short lanyard to mine so I can make sure it stays on my wrist and attached to my belt.

My only complaint is the serration . I dont really need them, but I can understand how it could be nice to have them in a pure survival situation.

Ok just a small update

I googled the codes and its not new just two options.

The 22-01627 has an Infra red reduction coating on it, knife and sheath

where as the 22-1400 does not so thats the reason for the price difference.

Also the ASEK is more money due to theseat belt cutter that comes with it, the Gerber LMF INFANTRY is the exact same knife as the ASEK just no belt cutter.
