I have a question regarding Gamma Seal Lids:
https://www.usaemergencysupply.com/emergency_supplies/gamma_seal_lid.htm
I am looking at storing bulk dried foods (Ex: wheat, rice, beans, etc) in 5-gallon HDPE buckets (Ex: Home Depot) with 5-6 gallon heat sealed Mylar bags. I will be using 2000cc oxygen absorbers. I will be storing these in the garage or in the shed (during the winter).
Is it really necesary to also use the Gamma Seal Lids since the food will be in the Mylar bags, or is it OK to just use the stock 5-gallon bucket lids? What are the pro's and con's? I am hoping to not have to spend $6+ for each Gamma Seal Lid.
Thanks!
