Just when Sarkozy is starting his re-election campaign France lost its AAA rating by Standard and Poors.

The euro was/is in free fall as other european countries were also down graded. Italy, Spain, Cyprus and Portugal. With a 30 per cent possibility of further downgrades.

There is also a hold up on the Greek bail out plan. Hungary is also in trouble.

9 counties were downgraded today. 9!!! So yes, it has begun. Greece is within a week or 2 of collapsing also acording to MSNBC. Hold on tight, what we all knew was coming.........is almost here!!

Didnt we just recently loose our tripple A rating as well about 3 months or so back? Doesnt seem to have hurt Obama too bad...he is still on a debt increase spending spree that shows no real sign of slowing up, worse yet the full effects of Obama Care (socialized medicine program) havent kicked in yet. Wait till we start getting the bill for that one!!!

IMO, the rating agencies have lost any credibility with society. Yes, there are massive problems in the management of resources around the world, but the rating agencies are nothing more than irritating fly.

Most people do not need them reporting to know we have problems. To say that we are AA does not reflect the true condition we are in, let alone any other country.

I am sensing an opportunity to buy gold.

Falling Euro = Rising Dollar = Lower Gold Priced in Dollars

Right up to the point that no physical gold is available at spot price.

There will be a break between paper prices and physical prices.

I enjoy looking at military surplus rifles at gun shows. Have noted that whenever I see a French FAS rifle, it's in near mint condition.

Finally realized that's because it's never been used ... and only dropped once!
