these freeze dried foods in the square buckets. can they be stored in a garage or storage unit. Hot and cold cycles as seasons past?

looking to add a 6 month supply of this type of food.

The hot and cold cycles will affect the condition of your foods.

I can fit 16 5 gallon buckets under my guest room bed. The box spring and mattress sit on top of the buckets full of provisions. The room is a steady temperature throughout the year.

If possible, you may want to insulate a partition off part of your garage into a cold storage room.

Yes an underground cache is best BUT moisture is the killer.

We have moisture problems here too, which is why we re-use desiccant.
