Whats your favorite muzzleloader caliber? Mine is the .50 cal. because its the swiss army knife of calibers.

I have only had my Lyman for a year and I chose the 50cal because I did not want to have to mail order all of my lead if I went with the 45cal I was originally thinking of.

I'm more of a purist and don't get into in-line muzzle loaders and under caliber jacketed bullets with sabots. The 50 caliber Hawkins is by far my favorite for deer sized game. Shooting patched round ball or a conical in pure lead they are hard to beat out to 100 yards.

.54

It will take anything.
Except a shooting match with Reality Hawkeye Czech.:D:
My place, this Fall, 100yds.
Bring it on Moonpie, and you'd better have your game on.
You'll be going against me and my Hawkens .45:thumb:

Here in PA, in the TRADITIONAL muzzleloader season, I love using my .50cal Thompson Renegade, but my father in law has the same gun in .54 and it is a monster on deer :)
