Hello everyone,
I was wondering about underground shelters. If you have on I'd like to hear about it, how it was built, how it's stocked, maybe get some info about the various systems employed (electrical, ventilation). I am also very interested in the industry side of it. Who are the companies that are in this market and what do they offer?

I'm looking for anything here really from a market research perspective. I already used google and i already you tube. It basically told me that there are a lot of people willing to spend a lot of money on this type of stuff and this forum is a great place to get feedback from those types of people.

You want the address to? People who lay out the big bucks are not going to talk. There is a section of the forum for a question like this. Your best bet is to contact the builders and look at their building specs. Stocking a shelter is such an individual based decision that what the company provides is only the begining.

If you'll spend some time searching google, you'll find a fascinating read. A guy who built an exceptional underground shelter out of large diameter culvert pipe. I wish I had the URL. He discussed and showed the preparation of the culvert, installing it, building in flooring and shelves, air systems, electrical, plumbing, etc. Total cost was quite cheap and the thing had a surprising amount of floor space.
