Anyone else here develop an eye twitch, or a Blepharospasm? Mine is apparently from staring at the computer screen...I've ruled out stress and lack of sleep.
So here is what I found....
I looked up "computer glasses", and the better ones have a +.25 Diopter and a UV/antiglare coating...not necessarily tinted. So my twitch seemed to spasm on me about every 15 to 30 seconds, and has been doing so for over a week now. Knock on wood, but I think I found a possible solution:
I put on my safety glasses...Bolle Silium, clear lens. Can't guarantee anything, but I've been wearing them for the last half hour and nary a twitch...so hopefully this will be the end of that annoying spasm.
If ya got shooters, give them a try if you have this problem!

That sounds like sound advice...
I need to try that.
Funny thing was...after I posted that, I took those glasses off and rubbed my eyes...then the damn twitch moved from my right eye to my left eye! Grrr! The glasses DID seem to help though, but I think the 2' distance to my monitor all day long is what is doing it, so tomorrow (today) I will try the window exercise. Thanks for that!

Go out and get you some Potassium tablets. Or drink Gatorade. The idea here is to increase electrolyte intake. Lack of electrolytes causes muscle twitching and spasms if it gets bad enough.

Add to that maybe some exercises for the eyes, like "the window"...

A good eye exercise is to put a postage stamp (or small sticker of any kind) on your window. Take a minute every half hour and alternate between focusing on the stamp and the horizon. do not do it too fast. just look at the stamp and take a couple breaths, the look at the horizon and take a couple breaths, and keep repeating.

Still got it. Beginning to think I must have had a stroke. It really takes its toll on ya...head aches, fatigue...
The best thing you can do is get rid of the CRT type monitor and get an LCD type. If you have a cheap video camera film your monitor, you will see a wide bar scanning up from the top to the bottom of your screen very similar to the TV but not as pronounced, since you sit closer to your monitor the scan of the screen can be very hard on the eyes... I used to have the same problem until I started using the laptop exclusively.

An astigmatism can also trigger the twitchies due to eye strain.

I sit in front of a computer for 12 hours a day and had severe eye pain and twitch. I switched to a flat screen monitor and as my optomitrist recomended i would look at something at least 15 to 20 feet away for 30 second every half hour. It helped quite a bit.

In the meantime, try setting the refresh rate for monitor a bit higher. I had the same thing happen and it was because the refresh rate was at 60. I put it to 75 and my eyes went back to normal.

Don't lie to yourself it's caused by a combination of MRSA, EBOLA and AIDS, and you know it. Stop living in denial, you have less than a week to live...:D:

i once had an eye twitch for an entire month, then it wen away. havent had a serious/ long lasting twitch since then.
Same here, just went away. Hope yours does the same. The doc told me to take regular breaks and look around outside at the grass and trees and stuff. I don't know if it was a placebo effect or not, but the twitch went soon after. Come to think of it a shooting instructor once told me to look at the grass to clear my eyes. Anyway good luck firehiker.
