Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted. Been busy trying to sort my life out, new business and all. Prepping fell by the wayside and Until recently I hadn't thought about it much. But now I just cant help but feel something big is about to happen. For the first time ever.. I hope it doesn't.

Anyways, I've been looking for info on Expats crossing countries and continents to get home post **** hit the fan and found nothing.

So firstly is there any British/European expats here in South Africa that consider getting back PSHTF?

I've been racking my brain, even considered calling the British consulate! What the hell will they do? Now for one moment consider a global event, stock crash, NWO, WW3, natural disaster what ever.. Most countries will fly out there diplomats quick quick but what about the people?
I think the days of Thatcher sending planes to rescue the britsh people are long over. But lets explore that option.. I have a Uk passport but my fiance does not, can she come with without a visa? What about our cats? (we're animal lovers and they are like our kids) what about funds? I'm broke, will I have to pay? What about my stuff? And during a world wide SHTF event will they even think of us?

I dont think so.

And lets be honest now, England may be in worse **** than us considering the current state of affairs with this refugee crisis.. (Something seems very fishy there!)

But I digress, so we can't rely on the government to get us out. Power maybe off completely so no comms, banks, money, flights and of course SA would descend in to chaos. Maybe Julias taking this chance to shine? :D:

Which brings me to my 2nd question for you.. Will we be better off here?

3rd. If you decide no and want to get back to your loved ones in the UK or Europe, with everything collapsing around us how will we do it?

4th. What will you want to take?
Don't forget that there will be a good chance most boarders will be shut and the ones that aren't probably wont be manned.
So I want to take my fiance without a EU passport/Visa. My pets, Bags of clothes, personal belongings, stored food, hopefully quite a few guns (That we dont even have yet!) and of course lots of ammo oh and a 4x4 with extra fuel would be nice too..

Option 1. Drive
Now this would be pretty possible, load up your 4x4 bakkie with your family, pets, belongings and preps and head north all the way in to Europe.
Google maps sets this trip at 13,160km and a whopping 178 hours for me to get home, that's basically an optimistic 18 days of 10 hours driving per day.
You will also need to catch 2 ferries, Morocco to Spain and France to England. Will they even be running? How much bribe money will I need? Will they be smart enough to work out cash is useless? So silver, gold, ammo, booze?? How will I make it through Africa with enough bribe goods and not be robbed? OH I nearly forgot LOL, this trip according to google takes you straight through DR Congo, CAR, Chad and *****ia to name a few. The places are F#CKED at the best of times!
Driving? Dont think so...

Option 2. Fly
As simple as booking economy virgin flight... Ermm No.
So I need a pilot, I need a plane..
A plane big enough to take all my gear.. Yes, Big enough to take a car? Probably not.
"But I dont know any pilots or people than own a plane..."
****.
So what if you do? Well lets hope you can convince them to go and hopefully there's enough space for you and your family.
My only option would be try get to my local (but smaller) airport and bribe my way on to a plane. I hope they'll accept 5 ounces of silver (facepalm):(

Aviation guys might want to pitch in here and explain how they see that one going...

Option 3. Boat
Skipping over that I dont know any sea captains or boat owners I still see this as a valuable option. Of course it would take some bribing, a lot of convincing talk explaining how you've been expecting this for a long time but maybe you'll get on. With a good chance there will be enough space for a car on this Sea worthy vessel so your ready when you hit the shore the other end. I dont know why but I see this as a more plausible mode of transport to get back.. Just watch out for the pirates. :thumb:

As I write this I've felt hope leave my body. Is getting back to Europe actually possible? Jeez I could get from france to England in dinghy but from South Africa to England? 600 miles? With out dying?
I just dont know.. And I dont know what might be waiting for me when I get there.. Maybe nothing.

Something to contemplate people..

So if any of you are from the UK/EU and would like to get back please let me know and if anyone has any ideas in general on how this maybe possible then comment!

Re: Coming to SA

Welcome back from an American living in Durban. From what I have read, SVR said that people will be doing the opposite of what you suggest and coming from Europe and elsewhere to South Africa to flee the wars. God told me to leave my comfy life in the USA and to come here and I obeyed Him. I have been here since 2006. Although things here are supposed to heat up before the world goes to war for a third time, (a.k.a., the great tribulation according to the Bible) we will likely not see nuclear war here, as the rest of the world will experience, so it actually be better to be here in my opinion. That is one reason I believe God told me to come here.

All of the things you speak to will be an issue no doubt, but for those who have left here, they will probably want to come back and others in the world will want to come here when they get a taste of WW3 and the fall out of nuclear destruction. The ones who have left SA will soon see that they jumped from the frying pan into the fire! My advice is to pray and prep. Stay here and join a reliable group who has a plan, like we have done. It gives great comfort to know that you are connected with people who know what they are doing and have a plan A, B, C and D.:)

God bless,

Ray

I share drray777's sentiment 100%. SA will be the safest place to be and many will come here or try to come here, in order to survive. Sadly your average person will not be able to do so in time. Only those already in the know aka your elites and also those few average people who saw the writing on the wall beforehand pre-shtf and/or who have the financial means to do so (paying traffickers/transportation) pshtf, will make it safely to SA.

In answer to your questions:

1.PSHTF:
We have EU passports and have a house in Europe, yet we choose not to leave SA, nor will during or PSHTF. Why? Because having lived abroad for many years, in different countries, we know that despite our crime situation and current economic downturn in SA, the grass is not greener on the other side and PSHTF things will be even worse in Europe and elsewhere. Contaminated soil, food and water shortages, collapsed economies and more.....

2. YES we will be better off here

You just have to look at the Syrian refugees and refugees in past conflicts to see that when shtf, when you choose to make a run for it, you will most likely run with nothing more than a backpack of stuff you grabbed in a hurry and that long before you reach your destination, even the backback will be lost along the way or emptied of its contents.

It is a romantic notion to think that during a major shtf situation we will have ample warning or that it will be safe enough, to enable us to pack up the 4x4 and trailer and hit the road. Most times shtf situations happen so quickly, that there is no time to do that and most times it is not safe to do so either. Ditto for Post Shtf. But lets say that you do indeed have ample warning to do so or that its safe enough to make a run for it, chances are that long before you reach your destination, you will have been dispossed of your belongings and 4x4. You will be an easy target. Equally the notion of living off the land and surviving while on the run, is also a romantic notion, unless that is already a part of your current lifestyle.

So imo, unless you have a fully stocked and self sustaining bug out place in SA when the shtf which you can safely run to with only clothes on your back, or if you have a bunker under your house or somewhere close to your house (with a seperate hidden exit of course) you are screwed as the rest of the world will be in shambles, there will be no evacuation of citizens.
If you feel that you will be safer in Europe during or post shtf, then you have to leave SA NOW, before shtf happens.

Another option, if you feel that post shtf, you really have to go back to eg the UK, then I think its best you buy a yacht now before shtf and keep it stocked with food and water. Learn how to sail it, if you don't know how to do it. It can become your new hobby and if shtf never happens, you will at least have had many great weekends at the coast and will always get back your money, should you decide to sell it a few years down the line. Its a good investment and if shtf, you won't have to rely on anyone to get you out of the country. You can do it yourself and sail to any destination of your choosing.

Check this link below, there is one selling for as low as R196 000! (If I didn't have a massive phobia about water, I'd invest in a yacht for sure, if my choice is to go to Europe and not stay in SA, post shtf - but I have already decided that I will stay in SA during and post shtf)

A yacht is just prey for pirates and storms. Didn't you watch Six Days and Seven Nights? BOL with a reliable group who are truly dedicated to Christ, (for now right here in SA) is the only hope in the long run...really.

Re: Pilgrims

Home is where the heart is. We all die, but only some truly live. So follow your heart and die smiling, by panga or by nuke.
Hahaha...not all of us have to die.:D: That is the point I am trying to make for those who will listen. There is a place one can get to in Christ where you do not have to die or even get sick. But be that as it may conventional war is bad but nuclear war will be unfathomable. Unfortunately it will take tribulation for Christians to unite. Once people see that their misunderstanding of the Word has caused them to be left in harm's way, those who have a real heart for God will repent and follow those who have protection and even prosperity in the face of tribulation for the whole world. As I say, it is one thing to be saved and another to be spared. BTW way my heart is with Jesus.:)

Agreed, but for those who wish to return to Europe or elsewhere, its better to have their own yacht and brave the storms and pirates, than being crammed into a boat like sardines with other refugees. Trying to get transportation last minute, during or post shtf, will be difficult and dangerous as it is, so best if one has own transport and can do it alone or with a couple of friends

Well, if you ask around in the relevant circles, I believe extractions, (via air) can still be arranged for a family of no more than 4. Last year the rate was set at 60 000 USD, (and the quote even covered one cat!). 60 000 USD appears to be the standard price around the world, and has remained stable since 2013.
Pity the Rand is a force of nature as of late
