When new money enters the system, every dollar that you are currently holding becomes less valuable. And if your paycheck does not rise at the same rate that the money supply is rising, that means that your paycheck becomes less valuable as well. If we continue destroying the U.S. dollar at our current pace, toilet paper will eventually be more valuable than U.S. dollars.

And with each passing day, more businesses are closing and more Americans are being laid off. Our national landscape is already littered with abandoned stores and restaurants, and they are telling us that it is only going to get worse. What is our country going to look like as this process plays out?

The incoming Democratic majority will just respond to every new crisis by printing even more money. On top of the money they already plan on printing for socialist programs. That is what happened down in Venezuela, and now just about everyone in Venezuela is a millionaire. But most of those “millionaires” are living in crushing poverty because the money is absolutely worthless.

I agree, but also assets that will allow you huge gains in the short term as things fall apart so you have greater resources to prep. Other than AMMO, everything on that list is going to flatline in the run up to the collapse. PMs have a horrible track record vs other vehicles for wealth generation/preservation and with the coming generations showing little to no interest in PMs, I don't see them going anywhere.

Society isn't going to collapse tomorrow, and there are plenty of gains to be made by preppers that will give them a leg up when the time comes. With how much the Dems are about to spend, finding assets that will benefit from that spending is key to prepping in my opinion.

I'm not saying go all in on stocks, crypto, etc, and ignore preps, but at the same time don't miss out on opportunities that are available to improve your financial situation because you're convinced the end is nigh.

I have a neighbor who's a mormon. The church of LDS, which he belongs to, tells its members to have 1 years worth of food for their family in storage. I checked online, you can look it up, they even have recommendations on what to buy and how to store it.

Anyway, you should be prepared. No rush to the bank, by that time your fiat currency is worth less than toilet paper anyway. No rush to the grocer, work with what you have.

Where did I say "don't be prepared". I just see a lot of people in this space becoming hyper-focused on an "impending collapse" and then putting all their eggs in one basket. I heard the same rhetoric when Obama was elected and yet low and behold, we're all still living in essentially the same world as we were pre-Obama.

We're for sure circling the drain, but I'm nowhere near pulling all my investments and going full on hermit mode. I'm confident we'll be having similar discussions to this for quite some time and in that time I'll become more and more prepared for the impending doom that so many see upon the horizon.

Thanks but what do we need silver and gold coins for?
Here's my current food stockpile, I know it's smallish compared to most other peoples, but if the grocers shelves run empty it should keep me alive for about 6 months (longer with rationing, and I live alone).
The tinned stuff's 'Best Before End' date is from 1 to 4 years depending what the item is, and an extra bonus is the fact that tinned fruit contains fruit juice to drink..

Metals do two things... Help with a true emergency, like medical, where you need to buy something or acquire services. And transport wealth through the event. I don't have enough money to worry about wealth but if i have a medical event..
