I guess once Hollywood gets in your blood it remains a toxin for life. Apparently, Clint Eastwood decided to back Bloomberg for President and has dumped Donald Trump. Could it be that senility is setting in? For some reason, I thought Eastwood had a good head on his shoulders but I should have learned by now to never assume anything.

Quote: “'The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there,'” said the two-time Best Director winner who famously endorsed Mitt Romney in 2012." (Famous last words of Clint "Turncoat" Eastwood).

I don't know why people put any stock in what hollywood "actors" have to say about anything. I've always liked Eastwood and several others, but I increasingly have zero use for any of them.

I would put more stock into what the garbage truck driver has to say.

True. A man who actually works for a living and is significantly affected by the ideas and policies of the folks running the show . Eastwood is financially set for life so Bloomberg's Socialist policies would have zero affect on Eastwood or his children.

At least he is not endorsing a Sanders presidency. Bloomberg won't be much better IMO but with Bernie we know what we will get. And I still find it fascinating there are people on this forum who will actually vote for that over the President.

I'm not certain who is more dangerous between the two. Sanders is an open imbecile. He clearly has a tiny IQ. And since the Dems and the RINOs both oppose him and his political ideology ... I doubt that he could actually implement any of his ridiculous schemes. He may also be playing off of his base simply to get votes. Folks from his own state claim that he's not nearly as "Socialist" as he claims to be.

Bloomberg, on the other hand, has a dangerous ideology(ies). He wants our guns as much (if not more) than Bernie does. But he has enough money to buy votes in the House and the Senate. He would likely be able to push his bad ideas through Congress much more easily than Sanders could.

Just food for thought.

I agree. The others are inept, booger eating morons, but Bloomberg is dangerous.
The fact that he was able to break the DNC's own rules and buy his way to the debate stage is proof-positive that money CAN and WILL buy political clout. And this dude, Doomberg, has more money than everyone on this board, combined, will see in 10 lifetimes.

For a guy who built his reputation and career on pretend shooting of bad guys, Eastwood is now the ultimate hypocrite for supporting the most outspoken gun banner in the country.

Strange, very strange.

From 2012:

"I am a grand believer in the safety of firearms, and I'll leave you with this story," the actor and director said. Eastwood told the tale of a middle aged woman being stopped in her car by a police officer. The cop notices that she has a concealed weapons permit and asks her if she has a gun. She does--locked in the glove compartment there's a 59 automatic Smith & Wesson gun. "'oh, great, anything else?'" Eastwood says the officer asked. The answer? Yes — in the console a .357 revolver and two boxes of ammunition. Anything else? Again, yes, in the woman's purse there was a 40 caliber Glock automatic and two extra clips.

"And he says, 'my God woman, what are you afraid of?' and she says, 'freakin' nothing,'" Eastwood smirked. "That sort of sums up my gun control."

As far as acting goes ... I really like Eastwood's movies (most of them anyway). And for awhile there ... it appeared that he was leaning conservative. Sorry to see that he's a flip-flopper with no real conviction. If his only beef with Trump is that he should more "genteel" then that's a horrible reason to vote for a Socialist control freak like Bloomberg. I don't like Trump's tweets either but that's no reason to support Stalin or Mao or Castro or Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is deffinitely not a socialist like Sanders. He has no desire to take the means of production over by force, then hand it to the government.

He thinks rich people, like him, should control the means of production.

But he is a power freak. He intends to become a king.

I am going out on a limb here and sorta predicting that if it is Bloomberg vs Trump in this next election Bloomberg Might win. Might be close but never know especially with politics and more than I want to go into.

How about Ronald Reagan? He might have been acting when he was president? He was a great president especially compared to most presidents but he still Might have been acting and it worked.

Eastwood is a self described Libertarian and yet he fully endorses gun control including banning of certain common firearms and registration. Eastwood said "I like the libertarian view, which is to leave everyone alone. Even as a kid, I was annoyed by people who wanted to tell everyone how to live." and then says; "I'm for gun legislation myself. I don't hunt." and "'Why would anyone need or want an assault weapon?" He doesn't sound like a Libertarian to me, he sounds like he's confused. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Eastwood
