Ok does anyone know the difference between the STG 58 Austrian FAL and the in-house SA 58 FAL that DSA sells on their website (besides the SA 58 being over $500 more)? I can only see cosmetic differences in the photos.

I think their prices may be better.
Quality is very high. They make their own recievers.

The main differances are:
STG-58 has been built from a parts kit with a new barrel and DSA made reciever. Most of the parts kits seem to contain unused internals. The internal parts on on mine looked brand new when I purchased my rifle. Others have stated that their internals looked used but they have not had any issue.

The STG-58 also have steel handguards and bipods. The steel handguards heat up rather quickly so I replaced mine with a set of DSA plastics for $40 and have not had an issue. This swap requires only a screwdriver.

The SA-58 is an entirely new gun, whether this is worth the $500 increase is debatable to some people. I personally would rather spend less and buy a spare spring set from tapco for $20 and a spare bolt,firing pin and extractor from DSA.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I completely agree with your assessment on the value. I'm looking to add a FAL to the arsenal soon.
