drying pumpkin seeds?

2277 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Bavarian Raven
How long does it take pumpkin seeds to dry? What is the best way to do it? And is there any way to speed it up? Also once they are dry what is the best way to store them? Right now I have them laying out on a sheet.

Are they to eat roasted or for storage to grow? You could place them in a dehydrator to dry. To roast, an oven at say 200deg and just watch 'em. Every 20 mins or so just eat one. When they get to how you like them, they're done.
They are to store so I can plant them next year.
we just dry them on a window ledge facing south. after about a week to 8 days when they "feel" dry and do not smell, they are good to store to plant. make sure NOT to store them in a plastic bag but isntead use a paper bag or envalope
I thought I was supose to dry them in a cool dark place, or is that to store them?
