Nor any issues in the Southeast where I live. But then, I don’t to those stores much.

 

I haven't checked the dollar stores but snack aisles here are pretty full in all of the stores here. I'm just outside Portlandia. Maybe their distribution center had a problem.

 

I don't know why but it's the same here in central Va . I figured it was because it's the only store in the area but they all seem to be lacking goods yet have inventory all over the floor.

 

Multiple warehouses used for stocking their stores in VA and WV condemned for rat infestation. No extra charge for the rat turds.

 

Umm..It is the end of the month. Time for those EBT accounts to be reloaded.

We only have a Family Dollar which merged with Dollar Tree. They have been running around 50% stock since they opened 3 years ago. I don't even bother.
Most things are actually not cheaper when broken down.

 

Haven't stepped foot in ours for 2 months. Dunno

Stocked well in NE Wyoming

 

Don't know, I don't go there. Saw one of those stores go up across the street from a county dump/landfill. Thought that was convenient. People should skip the step of taking their purchases home, and just walk it across the street and throw it in. Be there in a week anyhow.

And... the solution?
I avoid those places... save $ by not purchasing stuff that I don't need.

 

In my part of Central Va. everything is looking good. 2 months ago I stopped at dollar General to pick up something quick and got a $5 off coupon that is only good for Saturdays and I keep getting the same coupon for the next Saturday So every Sat- morning I hit them up for can goods and cleaning supplies. The store is always stocked nice

It is my understanding that Dollar Tree, which went to $1.25 about a year ago, is going to transition to a higher price point starting some time in May. I don't have specifics, but my guess would be they are letting inventory drop to allow for this.

 

With nothing else around for shopping within 20 miles , many in my area do their weekly grocery shopping at the dollar store. ours has meats, veggies ,fruit and all the over processed frozen delights. it's like a mini Walmart🤣
but the snack and Vienna sausage aisle is pretty empty.

here in Kansas our dollar general said the company just doesn't have the drivers needed for the trucks

 

A couple years ago they were opening a new store in this area about every two weeks. One of the Big Wigs was at a store opening. He said they wanted to make so that no one had to drive more than a few minutes to get to one. But, he also said he thinks they were going to fast worrying that they could keep them all stocked. So far there have been no major problems.

 

People joke about Dollar Generals popping up everywhere.
But out here where we live they can be essential.

There are only two towns in the entire western half of our county, hundreds of square miles. And one town on the other side of the state line. There is only one grocery store in each town, and all three are owned by the same company. Almost all of the food items they stock are the "house brand". Variety? Oh, heck no!

This is where DG gives us a choice in products. And, for one unincorporated settlement DG is the ONLY grocery store for miles. And this DG is one of the selected ones that carry fresh produce, just for that reason.

 

stuff like that depends on the snack company - some self-stock using the delivery drivers and some rely on the store employees >>> the $1.00 type stores around by me are UBER hard up for employees - especially after like 6pm

 

With the above in mind...
I just ordered a case of the 2% milk.
They no longer have Gossner, but the Marcels is the same. Good stuff, and shelf stable.

Very lightly stocked here in GA. - like 3 pkgs. of whatever on a shelf that has room for 30 or 40. Couple cartons of Marcel's milk.
The dollar and a quarter pricing is going away, too. Lots of items priced at $3, $5 etc.

 

EBT cards filled that week?

Cards get issued on 6th, NEVER go to Dolla Sto or Wally on that day or the next Saturday.

 

I’m pretty sure it’s an ongoing problem because they hung a sign on the front door that says WE ARE NOT GOING OUT IF BUSINESS… I guess they got tired of answering the question
