I was thinking about planting some sorghum in one corner of my corn patch this year but started wondering if they would cross pollinate each other. I looked around some on the internet but couldn't find an answer other then "maybe". I know I could stagger my planting dates some but I know that sorghum requires a pretty long growing season to get mature canes so I can't delay planting it too late. I'm pretty sure that sorghum will cross pollinate with johnson grass and I know that corn doesn't, so that would suggest that corn and sorghum would not cross pollinate but I thought I would ask here.
Thanks!

Thanks for providing the links to the studies, Dragonid! So it looks like there is a very low level of cross pollination, and even when it occurs it usually doesn't result in viable hybrid seed. Therefore I think I can get away with doing it, saving seed from plants furthest away from each other and staggering the planting dates as much as I can to minimize the amount of time the corn and sorghum are both flowering at the same time.
